My munchkins have a bunch of activities in the area so they go to this place at least once a week, and after the occasional Friday night grub we may come here for dessert. The munchkins give this place a solid 5 stars. I'm a grownup so I'm going with 4. It's comfortable, convenient to get there off the main drag, plenty of seating and they have a pretty good, pretty tasty, and reasonably varied selection of Fro-Yo (as the kids call it). I'm sure I'll be there this week too. Pro-Tip: Get their t-shirt, wear it and get .50 off your yogurt every time you go. The ones my munchkins wear are getting pretty ratty by now.

There are loads of frozen yogurt places along rt. 40 each with a more disastrous parking situation than the last. I was already here at the salon and couldn't resists stopping in to see what flavors they had. Once I saw dulce de leche, I was committed. I asked the girl behind the counter for a sample cup to try it. I guess the new rules with these froyo places are the staff has to get it for you. Now, I just feel like a pain. I tried it, really liked it and onward I went. I also tried the birthday cake flavor and have liked it much better than the others I've tried. Their froyo is smooth and their toppings are plentiful. They had 10-12 different flavors and two different sizes of cups. I still wish these places offered an even smaller sized cup. It was worth the stop and I will be back next time I stop into the salon or our friend's house down the street.

It seems like a ton of froyo places have been popping up in Ellicott City as of late. Yogi Castle is a decent alternative to Tutti Frutti. Yogi Castle has many more flavors compared to Tutti Frutti. Some are strange tasting (cake batter, red velvet) while others were really good (i LOVED the pumpkin). The Euro Tart flavor was pretty mediocre though. The toppings area was adequate and had many of the standard toppings. It seemed a little smaller than Tutti Frutti's though. One more thing... parking here SUCKS. The parking lot is really awkward. Overall, I'd say if you like different and unusual froyo flavors, Yogi Castle would be for you. If you prefer tart, head on over to Tutti Frutti.

Self-serve frozen yogurt with a more traditional range of flavors - chocolate, mint, peanut butter, and some variety in red velvet and mango yogurts. Tart and green tea add some neutrality to the mix. Toppings are standard for the modern froyo joint, fresh cut fruit, nuts, candy, sprinkles and ... cereal? Great dessert price but pretty pricey at $0.43/oz . This is the only drawback, seeing as Tutti Frutti down the street is about 15% cheaper. Still, the flavors are more my style as I prefer the chocolate/pb/coffee/vanilla/strawberry blend. They make a point of saying that "the weight of the cup is deducted" but it is still more expensive.

Similar to the Tutti Frutti (located on Rte 40, closer to the center of Ellicott City) to the Do-It-Yourself Froyo. They have more novelty flavors available (almost twice as much as the Tutti Frutti), but for some reason I had the misfortune of picking the flavors that were a bit too too soft, quite melty (didn't set-up yet in the machine). Some of the novelty flavors I tried were: Red Velvet (tasted like the batter, but it also had the consistency of the batter), Snickerdoodle (like rice pudding! yay), and Cake Batter (erm... I didn't really get cake batter flavor with this one for some reason). Yogi Castle may have more flavors, but they have less variety at the toppings bar than Tutti Frutti. Yogi Castle deducts the weight of the cup (12 cents per cup) prior to charging the costumer for the weight of the froyo and toppings. Located in the plaza with Roma Pizza, behind the Pizza Hut plaza.

There are a TON of options to chose from in terms of flavors - they have sugar free, fat free, light - I appreciate the diversity in selection. There are a good number of toppings to chose from as well - and you can even go with a cone instead of the cup. I've had both their chocolate and vanilla flavors and I find that their yogurt tastes more like ice cream - it's very thick and creamy. Parking is a little awkward and it is hard to find if you aren't familiar with the area.

Love this place! I take everyone from my family here (young and old) and i've always come out smiling. The flavors revolve, so you mighty not see the same flavors every month.
(5)Karen H.
Wonderful selection of yogurt and toppings and the store is very clean. Other attractive attributes are the late hours (open until 11pm on Friday and Saturday) and the reasonable prices. Have gone there with my family 3 times already in the last week! Great way to beat this summer heat.

The 2nd froyo joint on Route 40, off of Bethany Lane, competition to Tutti Frutti. I'll do a compare/contrast of the two places. Price: Tutti Frutti's (TF) summer price is ~$0.37/ounce whereas Yogi Castle's (YC) is around $0.43/ounce. However, YC deducts the weight of the cup from the total price. TF has two cup sizes and YC only has one size. TF's stamp card works by for every purchase over $4, you get a stamp and when you have 10 stamps, you get the next cup free. At YC, there's no stamp card, you give the cashier a phone number as sort of a membership number and every purchase gets added to your account. Once you've spent $50, they will deduct $5 from your next purchase. TF sounds like it's a better discount but depending on the amount you get on average each time you get froyo, the discounts will probably come out to around the same. I like TF's stamp card better. Flavors: YC definitely has double or more the number of flavors than TF, but I believe they are consistent flavors, whereas TF has rotating flavors, a bit more spontaneous. YC's flavors are also a lot richer and heavier than TF but they have some really good ones, like Peanut Butter, Strawberry, and Snickerdoodle. Didn't like the Red Velvet, Euro Tart or Cake Batter. I personally believe a froyo place should have a good tart flavor, so thumbs down for that. In terms of toppings, TF has more variety. Traffic: There's more open space at YC but more seats at Tutti Frutti. YC has a nice bar area but few seats on it. Plenty of standing room. Both places have weird entrance/exits into the parking lot involving U-turns. If another froyo place comes in nearby where you can turn in at an actual traffic light, I guarantee they'll do well! Until then, if you want light, tart, and fruity flavors, go to TF. If you want a creamier more dessert-like flavor, YC's your place.

I don't really like Yogi Castle as much as Tutti Frutti, which is another self-serve froyo place on Route 40 East, probably for a few reasons: 1. They don't have as many Asian toppings like mochi, grass jelly, lychee etc. . . 2. Not very many yogurt flavors that looked appealing to me-- I mean seriously, red velvet flavored froyo?! 3. The yogurt had a thicker consistency than Tutti Frutti, making me wonder which froyo was actually healthier. 4. The price per ounce is also higher here!
(3)Tim B.
Ok. Let's talk about something...let's talk about...deliciousness. 100% pure deliciousness. If someone asked me to kill you, the reader, for some of Yogi Castle's red velvet low-fat frozen yogurt, I'd carry out that task without a thought. Don't worry...I'd make it quick...I'd want to hurry up and get to my amazing froyo blood money. Oh, there is a $5 minimum on debit/credit card usage, but that doesn't matter for me, as someone else is paying for the hit.
(5)Rebecca B.
Love this place...more flavors tham other local shops.
(5)Michael P.
I'm not a FroYo fan, but my family loved Yogi Castle. The experience is unique, and the taste is great. It's a little pricy, however no more then high end ice-cream shops. Nad, you pay by weight so it is completely in your control. All-in-all, a great place.
(4)Albert L.
These people specialize in "taking the price of your cup" away from your total price. that would have been an awesome competitive advantage, except that your price per ounce is quite a bit higher. there are a fewer array of toppings, and although the flavors are quite different from those seen at other places, it definitely doesn't taste very appetizing. for the asian style froyo, this is too creamy. it's on par in terms of creaminess with your typical OG froyo though.
